Every stage ESPN lists (league, qualifying, knockouts, playoffs). European seasons run across two years; MLS seasons are calendar years.

What it does not have

  • Season ids follow ESPN's year, and the format changed. From 2021 a season is a calendar year (Apertura and Clausura from 2025). 2003 to 2013 name the year a two-tournament season starts (2012 = Inicial 2012 and Final 2013); 2014 and 2015 are single tournaments; 2016 holds the 2016 Transicion and the whole of 2016-17; 2017 to 2019 are the Superliga seasons 2017-18 to 2019-20; 2020 is the Maradona Cup. Playoffs are knockouts.
  • 2000 to 2002: results only, for part of each season (84, 175 and 188 matches). 2003 and 2004: goals for about 87% of matches, no lineups.
  • No league table: ESPN publishes one tournament's table, in a different format each season, so get_standings is not offered for Argentina.
  • Lineups from 2005. Player box scores from 2008 (half of 2007); before that goals, assists and cards are counted from the match events and the rest is null.
  • Shot locations from 2014 (about 24 a match); 2008 to 2012 only goals and a few shots (about three a match). Cards in the match events from 2014.
  • Sportsbook lines: a handful of matches in 2018 and 2019 (Bet 365), about a fifth of 2023 (about eleven books), nearly every match from 2024 with one book in ESPN's feed. The Odds API adds opening and closing lines from October 2020: a median of 1 book a match in 2020, 3 in 2021, 4 in 2022, 5 in 2023, 6 in 2024, 5 since.
  • In 11 of the 8,981 matches with events ESPN's goal events do not add up to the score (a goal listed twice or missing); the score is ESPN's final score.
