Clean sheet
also: shutout
A match in which a team concedes no goals; for a goalkeeper, a start in which his side conceded none.
Clean sheets are the defensive headline number. get_team_stats counts a club's matches without conceding; get_player and get_leaders credit a goalkeeper who started a match his side finished without conceding.
They depend on the whole defence as much as the goalkeeper, which is why saves, goals conceded and the xG of the shots faced belong next to them.
The common mistake
A goalkeeper replaced at half-time is not credited here even if the second half was also scoreless, and ESPN's goals-conceded count is the only source for it.
